In high school I wanted to be a photographer. Through P.B.S. Studios, I published over a hundred articles. While learning Adobe Photoshop, I discovered digital photo-painting from original masters of this new art form. I attended a seminar presented by Faye Sirkis and took on-line workshops from Karen Sperling, and Tim Shelbourne.
My paintings represent this new and emerging art form. Using a computer, a graphics tablet, and computer software (Adobe Photoshop and Corel Painter), I start with a reference photo as the base layer. I then use a stylus to paint on layers, drawing information from the reference photo emulating a watercolor (my favorite), oil, pastel or charcoal painting. Once completed, I then print my paintings on water color paper or canvas.
I am apart of the Manassas Art Guild (MAGS). I hope to expand the Manassas Art Guild into this new art form.
